The Rev Dr Peter & Pastor Mrs Theodora Adegbie LLM, BL
We began our missionary journey in Kampala Uganda in 1996 after training and ordination with Living Faith Church Worldwide. We were amongst the first set of missionaries under the WMA (World Mission Agency) Africa Gospel Invasion Programme (AGIP). While serving in Uganda, on June 9th, 1997, the late Dr Mrs Rita Endely, who was then the Regional Director at the Commonwealth office came into our house in Uganda. She was a near -total stranger, however when we began to pray together, she proclaimed seeing us writing all over Europe with a golden pen. Like Sarah, when she was told she would have a child in her old age, we laughed and dismissed her words. Justifiably so, because we had voluntarily chosen to pack up our careers as Company secretary/ Legal adviser and CEO of SPICA films respectively to serve God and humanity by volunteering for this mission to Africa.
Finally in November 2002 while on a 3-day retreat before preaching at a zonal crusade; God said to me, "Don't love your earthly master more than me, don't love your family more than me for I am a jealous God." This was a stern reminder of God's clear call to follow Him on a new mission. God had spoken to me earlier at an all-night prayer meeting, the call to a new assignment had come very strongly, "Follow me, like Abraham I will be showing you where to go." This was clearly an apostolic call.
For three months after the decision was made, my wife and I prayed and prepared with three faithful Pastor friends from three different ministries, who devoted time, resources and love to intercede with us. We received very clear and accurate instructions for the mission take-off in the north of England. Today we can look back with gratitude and say, we did not disobey the heavenly vision.
